Skin – weight properties

RIGID means the vertex will only be influenced by ONE bone, the one with the highest numerical influence.

RIGID HANDLES applies to patch models, not to editable mesh or editable poly..

NORMALIZE makes shared vertex values = 1. Try it.

Before normalize  ...

After normalize  ... they add up to 1.0:

Exclude verts takes the selected verts and moves it to the exclude influence list for that bone envelope.

Select an envelope and then any vert ...this vert has influence of .48...

hit exclude verts ...  ... now it has none:

BAKED VERTS will not be changed by envelope edits, only by the weight table or absolute values typed in.
