Painting using blend modes

The most used ones are in red.

You can use the Fade Brush tool to “tune” your work. Here we will fade the brushwork that uses linear burn:

This is like putting one slide over another.
Any color plus black = black covers.
Any color plus white = white becomes transparent.

Screen

Resulting color is lighter than either layer.
Any color plus black = no change, black becomes transparent.
Any color plus white = white covers.
