Cartoony Dawg Editable Poly

Cartoony Dawg starts with a spline outline in the Front viewport.

To assure every line is straight I used these settings on line creation:

 

Convert to Editable Poly. This will fill the interior with a large poly. Make a 2 sided material and apply to the shape. This will allow you to more easily model and see both sides of the polys.

Select all the edges and shift drag on Y to make this:


Continue to build out sides to your Dawg. You will need to weld vertices as you go. Apply a mesh smooth iteration 2 as you see on the right.

Delete the large inner face, then instance mirror to generate the other side.

To get the little differentiation where the nose meets the muzzle, I made a different smoothing group for the nose and applied MeshSmooth to separate by smoothing groups.

 

Eye sockets are pretty simple, here shown down the stack:

Here are some eyes, just spheres.


I removed the instance on one side and applied symmetry, which welds the seam. Here is the setting:

 

You could now take this farther with materials, Dawg body, etc.
