Particle
MBlur
MBlur gives you a great option to blur your particles. This shows the
default setting of the material Particle
MBlur to superspray:
We used sphere.
Metablobs, constant, facing, object geometry do not work.
Also, it can’t be a multi-sub material.
Travel/MBlur
MUST be activated!
Assign it to the
opacity map. Note -- Particle
MBlur works great with spheres, tetras and curves, but not
face maps etc. Also, it does not work with multi-sub-object maps or
fragments.
Color 1 = when
the particle is SLOW – as white, it is opaque. Color 2 = when
the particle is FAST – as black, it is transparent.

It can also be
added to the diffuse map. Add particle age to the diffuse slot:

Try it in a blend material:
Put it in the mask slot of blend:
The default settings; Color 1
= particle color at birth Age 1
= where color changes from 1 to 2 ... etc.
...
Try setting the
middle color to white:
Put colors or maps
in the top 2 blend slots:
Now our particles
go from red to white:
