If your reflective water looks too light or “flat ...

 

 

 

Swap the Front:Side maps:

 

 

Add a Fresnel Falloff map:

 

 

 

 

 


You can even swap Raytrace and falloff again to vary the results:

 

 

 

You can change the body mass and highlight colors of the water within this last falloff [shown inside map #8 in the sample]

 

 

 


The bump

 

Here we are changing the phase of the bump from 1 to 0:

 

 

Important! We also have a falloff inside the Smoke, in the lower slot:

 

 

It cuts out a lot of excessive reflections in the bump. If you want shinier water, take it back out:

 

 

 


Reflection dimming

 

Don’t forget you can go to the extended parameters at the root level of your water map, and continue to finesse the watery reflections.
