Wiro's classic metals

We're going to explore 3 of his metal materials. Let's go ...

Remember the rule, reflective materials need something to reflect. So this is what Wiro did ...

Make a chamfer box and flip the normals. Add another object with inward facing normals, known as a reflection card. You could also just make a few inward facing planes. Vary the angle so it is off-angle from the room.

These cards can be usually white and sometimes black. Here is his color, a little pink to add some color.
Tip -- if you spin the self-illumination color you can control the brighntess of the cards.

Position a li'l ol' teapot there; be generous with the segs; I used 16.

Fast and easy matte metal [not reflective]
First we are going to make his "generic metal."

He uses the Oren-Nayar-Blinn shader. Its the Blinn shader wtih some extas, like Diffuse Level and Roughness,
intended to give the material a matte effect. Here he is only changing the "roughness" value.

[You could do just as well without the roughness and use a Blinn shader] ...

His scratch map is applied to the spcular level slot. You can no doubt make one yourself in Photoshop.
