Some Flash Notes on Drawing

Pencil Sketching

Use the ... Pencil Tool!

Line Weight

You can customize the stroke style

Smooth or Straighten settings for lines ...

Ink is neither Smooth or Straighten

The slower you draw, the closer Flash will try and capture your strokes

Modify/Optimize curves minimizes the number of curves

You can, for example, straighten only one part of a line.

Shape recognition

Edit/Preferences ... Editing ... Recognize shapes ... Tolerant.

Set pencil to Straighten.

Draw a square ... see it snap into shape!

[Not really essential, as we have a circle, square tool anyway.]

Usually best to turn Shape Recognition OFF, so every oval you draw does not become a circle, etc.

Painting

Use ... the brush.

Tip – ZOOM IN to your work!

Ctrl + and Ctrl – = Zoom

Use the arrow tool to adjust the curve of a painted shape.

More tips

You can also use the Smooth and Straighten and Optimize curves with the brush.
