Assign mapping type to UV

UV Face Select Window

Essential:

U = UV Calculation in select UV Face Select Window

It is useful to get into an ortho view (like front) and Project From View

Set up a second window for the UV Image Editor

You working space should look like this:

On the left you select faces and make projections on the mesh,

on the right you weld and move faces and vertices.

To Move a uv face, right click on it and drag.

Your selection setup changes how objects are selected.

Select a face and experiment with what does what.

B = border select

S = scale

This is good for moving a face

This is the selection to move connected uv faces together

 

Stitch

Stitch is great for welding multiple vertices on adjoining uv faces

Weld

'Weld = W

W to Weld (snap together UVs)

Shift or border select 2 or more close vertices and hit W

Border select the 2 or more pixels you want to weld

B = border select

W = weld
